DEI 556T Valet Digital Time/Temp Remote start Controller

(This item is no longer available - it was discontinued by DEI - we are Sold Out)

The DEI 556T Valet Digital Time/Temp Remote Start Controller can be used with any DEI Brand Remote Starters, and also with any brand vehicle remote starter system that utilizes a (-) activation input.

The DEI 556T works by 'activating' the remote start by either programming a timed activation or by presetting temperature thresholds at which the unit automatically activates the remote start.

LCD Readout features a digital clock in timer mode, 4 remote start settings can be made, in either military or standard time, with either one time or recurring settings, and the ability to pick days of the week. In temperature mode, 2 remote start settings can be made, with an upper and a lower temperature threshold, in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.

The 556T features an LCD readout that actively displays the time, date and the current temperature inside the vehicle.

For the Timer Mode, you can program a One-Time Activation, or you can program a Weekly Activation so that remote start activation will occur at the same time of the day for selected days of the week. You can program up to four timed activations. For example, you can have your vehicle automatically remote start at 7:00 AM, Monday – Friday, so it is warmed up, and the windshield defrosted by 7:15 AM when you leave for work. Then you can also have it remote start at 4:45 PM so it's warmed up when you leave work.

For the Temperature Mode, the 556T provides the capability to preset a low temperature, say 5 degrees F, so that when the temperature drops below that, the remote start will be activated to warm up your engine and your vehicle. In very cold climates, this is a handy way to keep your vehicle from 'freezing up over-night' so it will start in the morning. You can also set a high temperature for the summer so the remote start will be activated and cool down a very hot vehicle.

Installation:

Important! Safety First: Toggle Switch and Hood Pin

When installing this product with a DEI remote start system, a toggle switch and a hood pin must be installed to prevent the remote start unit from being activated.

A hood pin must be installed to prevent unwanted remote start activation when the vehicle is being serviced.

The toggle switch must be installed to prevent unwanted remote start activation when a vehicle is being serviced or stored in an enclosed area. If the remote start system was pre-installed in the vehicle, check with the installer for the location of the toggle switch. For non-DEI systems, consult the installer or manufacturer for switch location and override procedures.
